Nursery and Assisted Living (2026)

O-RU are developing two schemes for a client in Manchester, on one large plot. The plot has an existing large detached house which has been efficiently redesigned as a nursery, incorporating the old stables, joined by a ramp making the scheme fully accesible across the difficult site.

The assisted living scheme is developed alongside the nursery, and is intended to be complimentary to the architecture of the nursery. The site wide strategy pushes what care in architecture should be and asks new questions about how intergenerational development might better the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in society.
